The boys had a good day in Champex Lac so when I was fit enough we went for another try. It was pretty good.

Driving from Le Chable took around 30 minutes. Roads were great and blue bird was up. Boys had bought lift passes for the whole day the day before, but now we knew that one lift run up was enough. After some english-french-with-hand-gestures we managed to get single lift runs up, 10 CHF each. Great!

From the top we saw the obvious lines:

The lines had no tracks so we went for them. First traversed to the side and hiked with skins on the ridge which is not as steep as the small couloirs. Tommi and Mika hit the first one on left and I took a bit trickier one on the right. Things didn't really work out. Tommi fell on the wind packed snow and I hit rocks with skis and my butt, which ripped my pants maybe 12 cm. Hip protection maybe took a bit of the pain away, but not much. Before that I had noticed that my avalanche beakon is at home. A big no-no, slap in the face, and a trip behind the sauna when we get back. Luckily we weren't that far off piste. Just hiking little couloirs above the traverse.

At the top of my run I also forgot to press start on my helmet camera. That's three days in a row now. On the first big run of the day I always forget. Don't know why. This time I was consentrating on the line, little drop and ways to gain control after straight lining too much.

Mika hiked and hit the ridge down a bit so we could film it in good light.

We tried to hike a second run too but my splitted skins failed to attach to my skis and we ran out of tape. Me and Mika just hit the playfull rocks behind the ridge while Tommi hiked up and hit the whole backside ridge with a helmet cam on.
